Annapurna Foothills Trek

The Annapurna region in Central Nepal is the most geographically and culturally diverse region for trekking with over 3,000 visitors. The Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) workings along with the King Mahendra Trust for Nature Conservation have declared this region as area of conservation and sustainable development. Stretched over 2,600 sq. km., the area boasts of a variety of diverse cultures, tribes and castes as the Brahmins, Chettris, Newars, Gurungs, Magars, Manangis and the Tibetans.

This area has sub-tropical lowlands, valleys, bamboo, oak and rhododendron forests, alpine meadows, windswept desert plateaus and the towering Annapurna Mountains. This area has the world's deepest river gorge, Kali Gandaki, lying some 6,900m/22,563 ft. below some of the world's largest and most beautiful mountains as the Annapurna I (world's 8th highest) & Fishtail (one of the most beautiful). Animals and birds are in abundance in this region. 440 species of birds and animals like the marten, deer, langur and the elusive snow leopard live in this area.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 02: Drive Kathmandu to Pokhara (884m). Overnight at the hotel.
Day 03: Drive from Pokhara to Phedi & Trek to Dampus (1,700m). Trek duration: 2 ½ hrs. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge.
Day 04: Trek from Dampus to Landrung (1,699m). Trek duration: 4 to 5 hrs. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge.
Day 05: Trek from Landrung to Chommorong (2,050m). Trek duration: 5 hrs. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge.
Day 06: Trek from Chommorong to Tadapani (2,710m). Trek duration: 5 to 6 hrs.
Day 07: Trek from Tadapani to Ghorepani (2,724m). Trek duration: 5 to 6 hrs. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge.
Day 08: Punhill & trek from Ghorepani to Hille (1,524m). Trek duration: 4 to 5 hrs. Evening at leisure. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge.
Day 09: Trek Hille to Nayapool and drive to Pokhara (890m). Overnight at the hotel.
Day 10: Drive to Kathmandu. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 11: Final departure. Free for final minute shopping and packing until transfer to the airport for final departure.
