Annapurna Sanctuary & Tharpu Chuli

Tharpu Chuli (Tent Peak) is located in the Annapurna region. The summit of Tent peak offers a stunning 360 degrees panoramic view of the surrounding Annapurna massif. The Annapurna region in Central Nepal is the most geographically and culturally diverse region for trekking with over 3,000 visitors. The Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) working along with the King Mahendra Trust for Nature Conservation have declared this region as area of conservation and sustainable development. Stretched over 2,600 sq. km., the area boasts of a variety of diverse cultures, tribes and castes as the Brahmins, Chettris, Newars, Gurungs, Magars, Manangis and the Tibetans.

This area has sub-tropical lowlands, valleys, bamboo, oak and rhododendron forests, alpine meadows, windswept desert plateaus and the towering Annapurna Mountains. This area has the world's deepest river gorge, Kali Gandaki, lying some 6,900m/22,563ft. below some of the world's largest and most beautiful mountains as the Annapurna I (world's 8th highest) & Fishtail (one of the most beautiful). Animals and birds are in abundance in this region. 440 species of birds and animals like the marten, deer, langur and the elusive snow leopard live in this area.

Itinerary

Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 03: Fly to Pokhara & Sightseeing. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 04: Pokhara to Nayapul Drive & trek to Ghandrung. Trek Duration: 5½ hrs. Overnight at Lodge.
Day 05: Chhomorong (1,950m). Trek Duration: 5½ hrs. Overnight at Lodge.
Day 06: Himalaya Hotel (2,100m). Trek Duration: 5 hrs. Overnight at Lodge.
Day 07: Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700m). Trek Duration: 5½ hrs. Overnight at Lodge.
Day 08: Annapurna Base Camp (4,200m). Trek Duration: 4½ hrs. Overnight at Lodge.
Day 09: Rest and acclimatization at Annapurna Base Camp. Overnight at Lodge.
Day 10: Camp at Annapurna South Glacier (4,200m). Trek Duration: 3½ - 4 hrs. Dinner and Overnight at Camp.
Day 11: Trek to High Camp (4,900m).Trek Duration: 5½. Dinner and Overnight at Camp.
Day 12: Summit via Northwest Ridge OR via Southeast Ridge. Overnight at Lodge.
Day 13: Buffer Day. Dinner and Overnight at Camp / Lodge.
Day 14: Backtrack to Himalaya Hotel. Trek Duration: 5½ - 6 hrs. Overnight at Lodge.
Day 15: Back track to Chhomrrong (2,170m). Trek Duration: 5 hrs. Overnight at Lodge.
Day 16: Ghandrung (1,920m). Trek Duration: 5½ hrs. Overnight at Lodge.
Day 17: Trek Nayapul and drive to Pokhara. Trek Duration: 3½ hrs. Drive Duration 1½ hrs. Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 18: Pokhara to Kathmandu Flight 30 min. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 19: Final Departure.
